The Small Business Owner's Guidebook covers so many critical areas of starting a business. I am not an "entrepreneur", and the business I am trying to get started is really the first for me.

We (my partner and I) were very frustrated with our progress until your book arrived. We thought we would sail through the start-up part and have our doors open for business in 60 days! We might have been able to do that if we had the resources to fund the business ourselves, but we did not, and every turn we took was a rejection! No wonder we were frustrated!

Then we got the Small Business Owner's Guidebook. We learned to take time to do our homework, which in our case consisted of talking with other business owners in our field, discussing the cash flow plan we drafted with a consultant familiar with our field (which is a new product with a growing, but thus far very small market presence), and working harder on finding sources of funding from our network of friends and family was exactly what we NEEDED to be doing.

The good news is that after five months, we have several investors interested in working with us, we have a business plan and cash flow forecast that is reasonable, and is easy for investors to accept, and we have redesigned our store format with a plan that will result in greater efficiency and lower expense.

We are still some time away from opening the doors to our new business, but I hope that a year from now we'll be able to tell you that store number two is up and running with three and four already on the drawing board! Thank you for your insight and the important information you have offered.
